Last month we went over some on-page SEO techniques to help your website get a quick SERPs boost. The on-page techniques in that article had to do with changing the SEO title, page title and meta description. In this article, we will go over how you can use Surfer SEO to improve your “keyword density” on pages on your site and get a very quick SERPs boost as a result.
First off, if you haven’t checked out SurferSEO, it’s definitely time you do so. It comes with a seven-day trial for $1 so there’s no reason not to give a look. Previously I wrote an article where we went over the advantages of a website audit with Surfer. In this article, we will go a little more in-depth and you will actually see a Surfer website audit in action.
So how does a Surfer website audit work? It allows you to take your page and measure it up against the pages which are actually ranking for the keyword you are targeting. For instance, if you are trying to rank for “best dog collar” you can use this audit to find some quick changes you can make to help your website stack up against those who are ranked at the top. The audit compares your page against theirs in many metrics, including backlinks, words in body, words in paragraphs, words in bold, h2 to h6, characters in the title, characters in the meta description and more.
My Example of a Surfer Website Audit
Which sites are you compared to? Whichever sites you select. You go through the top of the search results for your keyword and choose which sites you want to be stacked up against. Don’t just automatically select the top ten. For instance, if you are an affiliate website, you don’t want to try to match what Pinterest and Facebook pages are doing. Select the exact pages you are trying to outrank that are similar to yours.
What we have found most useful from the audit is their “True Density” report. This takes an average of important phrases and words that the high-ranking pages you selected are using in their content. It tells you how many times you have used these phrases and words and how many times you need to add or remove them from your page.
Normally to get these phrases and words in your article, you will need to add more words and paragraphs. With the combination of the improved “True Density” and also more content, this is a great way to get yourself a quick boost in the serps. Depending on how far you are away from their ideal True Density, this is something that can just take a matter of minutes.
Then there will be other instances where your page will need a ton of phrases and words added and removed. While this could take a substantial amount of time, believe me when I say it’s definitely worth the time.
What if you just don’t feel like doing all of that work? There is an alternative. It costs some money, so if you are willing to spend $30, you can have your True Density issue resolved for you.
There is a service on Fiverr where they optimize your content according to the True Density report on Surfer. Click here to check it out. (And just so you know, that is an affiliate link so if you use it to purchase I will receive a commission at no extra charge to you.)
Now maybe you want to get completely ahead of the curve and order content that already has the True Density report taken care of. SEO Content Hero offers that already for an additional cost to their regular content. For an additional $3.50 per 100 words, you can have your website Surfer-optimized.
While I have not ordered the SEO Content Hero (yet) I have ordered the Surfer gig on Fiverr and have some results to report. The keyword I was targeting gets 200 searches per month, according to Ahrefs. Just three days after the True Density optimization, it moved from the 9th 4th position in the serps. I had to block out the URL, keyword because I do NOT want to give this niche up.
So if you are looking for a quick way to boost your on-page SEO game, then you definitely need to take a look at Surfer SEO. You will be hard pressed to find more bang for your buck when you are looking to give yourself a quick SERPS boost. Give it a shot.
